Hyderabad: The Telangana state police on Saturday launched an inquiry against Ranga Reddy Superintendent of Police B. Naveen Kumar for allegedly deploying a Home Guard for his personal use. Mr Anjani Kumar, incharge DGP, ordered the inquiry into the incident after senior officials came to know of it.
“The incharge DGP has asked Akun Sabharwal, DIG, Hyderabad range, to inquire and submit a report immediately on misusing Home Guard services by the Ranga Reddy SP,” said an official release from the DGP’s office.
According to sources, the SP had been making the Home Guard wash clothes and buy groceries. The home guard was posted at the SP’s house for more than a month after Mr Naveen Kumar took charge. The victim has reportedly written to officials on the issue.
