Telangana: Now no district is corona free

However, the capital city and surrounding districts remain the epicentre

Hyderabad: A total of 178 COVID-19 cases were recorded in Telangana on Tuesday, 143 from the city limits and 35 from nine other districts. The toll rose to 148, with six more people succumbing to the disease.

According to the health department, the COVID-19 tally rose to 3,920.

Hyderabad with 143 new cases and its neighbouring districts of Ranga Reddy, and Medchal-Malkajgiri with 15 and 10 respectively remain the epicentres for the coronavirus spread. While two cases each were reported from Mahbubnagar, Sangareddy, and Medak, one case each was reported from Jagitial, Asifabad, Warangal Rural, and Rajanna-Siricilla districts.

There is no district in the state which is Covid-19 free.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that some patients who have tested positive but are asymptomatic and placed under home quarantine as per Indian Council for Medical Research guidelines, are not being included in the tally. If all such cases are included, the numbers would show a fairly significant rise, a source said.
