Telangana: Jupally Krishna Rao and TD MP Revanth Reddy slug it out

Hyderabad: The war of words between the TRS and TD spilled out in the open on Thursday, with TS TD MLA A. Revanth Reddy trying to stop minister Jupally Krishna Rao by snatching away the mike when the latter took the name of the TD chief.

Speaking after inaugurating BT road works at Bogamram village of Kosgi mandal in Mahbubnagar district, Mr Krishna Rao alleged that AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and some other forces were trying to stall the Palamur lift irrigation scheme.

Taking exception to the comments, Mr Reddy rushed towards the minister and tried to snatch away the mike. Mr Rao successfully warded off the attempts.
Mr Reddy asked the minister not to name Mr Naidu at the function, even as his supporters started raising slogans against Mr Rao.

TRS workers reacted with slogans of their own. Police intervened and pushed away the slogan shouting TD workers from the place. “I don’t know why Revanth Reddy was upset when I took the name of Naidu. It’s not proper to snatch away the mike. Palamur Lift Irrigation scheme will not be stopped despite attempts by some,” the minister said.

He defended his comments saying Mr Naidu has opposed utilisation of Krishna and Godavari waters and construction of irrigation projects by TS. A furious Mr Reddy said TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao went to Amaravati for capital launch and had sumptuous biryani with A P CM.

Mr Rao also earned the wrath of a group of students later for targeting TJAC chairman Prof Kodandaram. A group of students stopped his convoy and requested him to stop abusing Prof. Kodandaram. They backed TJAC poser to government on education, health and other issues.
