Exclusive parade for Karnataka women constables today
BENGALURU: In a novel move, the south division police will hold an exclusive parade for the women constables to redress the grievances. In the backdrop of mass leave protest by police constables, senior police officers are making all out efforts to bridge the gap between them and the constabulary.
According to a senior police officer, “It is a one of its kind parade where women constables will be taking part exclusively, so that their grievances can be heard properly.”
The parade is scheduled to be held at the CAR grounds on Mysuru Road at 7 am on Friday. “Over 200 women police constables across the city are expected to participate. Police department is aware about the issues the women constables face, so we want to give them a platform to air their grievances,” the officer added.
It may be recalled that the city police commissioner had already announced fixed working hours and compulsory weekly off for the police personnel, apart from assurance to fill vacancies. Holding exclusive parade for women is a welcoming move and it would gain the confidence of the policewomen, added another officer.
