CM Pinarayi Vijayan sets 30-day target for pleas
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the government would set up a mechanism to ensure that all petitions are settled within 30 days. All district collectors were also directed to solve issues under their jurisdiction at their level itself.
“Over the last few days, many issues that could be sorted out at the district level came before me. Subsequently, I directed all district collectors to ensure that issues that could be sorted out at district level should be sorted out there itself,” Mr Vijayan said at a meet-the-press programme at Thiruvananthapuram Press Club on Thursday.
He said the government would come out with innovative schemes and fund mobilisation plans to tide over the fiscal crunches. Steps for implementing various assurances in the LDF’s manifesto, including setting up of a bank and introducing the new liquor policy, were progressing. Initiatives to control escalating prices of essential commodities were already on. New schemes for foolproof distribution of welfare pensions will also be initiated.
The CM also accused the RSS of unleashing violence and false campaigns against CPM cadres in northern parts of the state, including his constituency Dharmadam.
NO THINKING ON VS’S POST NOW Replying to questions on whether any decision was taken on the post of V.S. Achuthanandan, Mr Vijayan said at present there were not such a "thinking on the matter."
NO VINDICTIVE TRANSFERS: The LDF government will not indulge in any vindictive transfers flouting norms as was “done by the previous UDF government.” All transfers by the previous government flouting norms were being rectified.
SMART CITY: Mr Vijayan said he will meet officials of SmartCity Kochi on June 23. All issues including delay in the project would be discussed.
TIGHT-LIPPED ON SENKUMAR: The Chief Minister replied to queries that he did not want to have a public debate on shifting T. P. Senkumar from state police chief post. “If I tell about that, I will have to make public many issues,” he said.
