Congress veteran J Ratnakar Rao dies at 92

The three-time legislator was minister for endowments during 2006-09

Hyderabad: Congress leader and former minister Juvvadi Ratnakar Rao passed away at a hospital in Karimnagar district due to an age-related illness. He was 92 and is survived by three sons.

Ratnakar Rao was elected to the Legislative Assembly in undivided thrice Andhra Pradesh in 1989, 1999 and 2004 from Buggaram constituency. He was minister for endowments in the cabinet of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy during 2006-09.

Telangana chief minister Chandrashekar Rao expressed his condolences over the death of Ratnakar Rao. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy, and several party leaders were among the others who expressed their condolences.
