Hyderabad: Two flyers held with gold paste
Hyderabad: Two passengers who attempted to smuggle gold from Dubai to India were apprehended by the Air Intelligence Unit sleuths at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday night. The passengers were found to be carrying gold near the rectum in a specially tailored innerwear pocket.
The passengers arrived in Shamshabad from Dubai in an IndiGo flight (6E 025) during the evening. While they were walking through the channel to exit the airport, the AIU sleuths of the customs department intercepted them and subjected them to checking.
Following a thorough search, the passengers were found to be carrying gold on their body and even inside.
“The gold was recovered in the form of a paste and was concealed in packets wrapped in black coloured tape. The packaged contraband was stored near the rectum in a specially tailored innerwear pocket. Both passengers were found to be using the same method to smuggle the contraband,” said the officials of AIU.
