Penalty imposed on 29 municipal officials for delay in TS-bPASS approvals

HYDERABAD: The state government on Monday imposed penalty of Rs 3,000 each on 29 officials working in municipal corporations and municipalities for not clearing files as per the prescribed 15-day time frame stipulated under the Telangana State Building Permission Approval and Self-Certification System (TS-bPASS) for granting building permissions online.

The penalty was imposed on four municipal commissioners, 15 site technical verification officials, and 10 site verification officials.

Arvind Kumar, special chief secretary of municipal administration, said that orders were issued to collectors concerned to recover the penalty amount from officials from their salaries.

Arvind Kumar instructed collectors of Hanamkonda, Medchal, Mahbubnagar, Ranga Reddy, Suryapet, Warangal, Yadadri district to take steps to recover the penalty from officials concerned.

The decision to impose a penalty was taken after the government reviewed the reports sent by district-level TS-bPASS committees headed by district collectors concerned on the delays in granting approvals by municipal officials.
