Micro artist invents earthquake alert alarm

Kakinada: Micro artist Aripaka Ramesh has said he has invented an alarm system that detects any seismic activity, which may lead to an earthquake.

Ramesh, who has done his ITI in electronics, said his invention sets off an alarm when there is even the slightest tremor. It works on a battery with two pendulums – one that detects seismic activity more than 3 centimetres, and the other that senses seismic activity from 0.5 centimetres.

The inventor said the pendulums work only on battery and not on direct power supply, as the voltage could fluctuate. He maintained that these systems can be useful for high rises, industries and other areas.

Ramesh said if the government encourages, he can make more systems that can be helpful for society.

Aripaka Ramesh has previously invented a borewell rescue kit and blood electrification therapy system.

The inventor also makes micro articles. These include 18 idols of different gods and goddesses kept in the hole of a needle. Other micro images include Indian Flag, Jesus Christ, Alfred Nobel, Gowthama Buddha, Veerabrahmendra Swamy and Mahatma Gandhi.

The inventor’s name has entered the Limca Book of Records, World Book of Records and other publications.
