Kuchipudi Guru Pasumarti Sita Ramayya
VISAKHAPATNAM: Kuchipudi Guru Pasumarti Sita Ramayya, 95, passed away due to a brain stroke late on Thursday. The Central Sangeet Natak Academy awardee had dedicated his life to the service of Kuchipudi dance.
According to his grandson P. Mani Kumar, all the three sons and three daughters arrived in the city to perform the last rites.
Though the family is based out of Krishna district, he had been living here since 1963. He started his career as a Kuchipudi teacher at the Andhra University school.
Nataraj Music and Dance Academy founder Bathina Vikram Goud is one of the several students that came to pay final tributes to the legendary dance guru.
