Plan to develop a park at Indravelli martyrs memorial

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy focuses on completion of 2BHKs promised to Adivasis at historical Jodeghat

Adilabad: On instructions from Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy, officials have collected information about the progress of construction of the 2BHKs at historical Jodeghat.

Details have also been collected by them about the road connectivity, education and health facilities and other basic amenities in the village in Kerameri mandal of Komaram Bheem Asifabad district.

Collector Hemant Bhorkhade visited Jodeghat and had an interaction with the village elders and officials. He inquired with them about the status of construction of the 2BHKs as on December 7.

The officials collected information about how many 2BHK were sanctioned and how many were completed and how many were yet to be completed. A report would be submitted to the state chief secretary in these respects.

Meanwhile, Adilabad collector Rahul Raj visited the Indravelli memorial and paid rich tributes to martyrs. He held a gram sabha at the memorial and interacted with the elected representatives and adivasi elders.

The collector asked officials to develop a memorial park at Indravelli. Revanth Reddy had visited the Indravelli martyrs memorial and paid rich tributes when he took over as TPCC president.

Then chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao promised to construct 2bhk houses for the families of historical Jodeghat where legendary adivasi leader Komaram Bheem died life while fighting with the Nizam’s forces to press for the adivasis' rights on Jal, Jangal and Jameen (water, forests and land) in the 1950’s. Komaram Bheem’s relatives are still living there.

The BRS government constructed a Komaram Bheem museum and a memorial at Jodeghat with '25 crore. KCR had also promised 2bhk houses to the residents of Jodeghat but the construction dragged on for years due to lack of funds allotment.

Revanth Reddy paid rich tributes to the Indravelli martyrs on April 20, 2021 and had an interaction with the villagers of Heerapur in Indravelli mandal. He also had community lunch.

After becoming TPCC president, Revanth Reddy had held a public meeting ‘Dalitha Girijana Atma Gourava Dandora’ at Indravelli.

The event was organised at Indravelli on the occasion of International Indigenous People’s Day on August 9, 2022. Subsequently, the Congress party organised similar public meetings in the state.

Revanth Reddy had visited the Nagoba temple and took the blessings of Nagoba before and after becoming the TPCC president. During the visit to Indravelli, he had promised the local adivasi leaders to develop a memorial park at Indravelli.
