Union minister Chauhan Visits IIITDM Kurnool

Kurnool: Union minister of state for communications Devusinh Jesingbhai Chauhan visited IIITDM (Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing) at Kurnool. He inspected the campus, including laboratories, hostels, academic buildings, departments, playground and the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium.

BJP state president D. Purandeswari and Rajya Sabha Member T.G. Venkatesh accompanied the union minister.

Devusinh Chauhan said the union government invested ₹300 crore for establishing IIITDM on a 151-acre campus in Kurnool. The institute has also been equipped with a 5G Use Case laboratory.

When IIITDM Kurnool director Professor Somayajulu mentioned issues related to telecommunication signals, the union minister assured that the problem will be resolved soon.

Devusinh Chauhan requested the state government to address concerns like constructing a boundary wall around the campus, improving the access road and arranging streetlights.

BJP state president Purandeswari praised the quality of research at the IIITDM Kurnool. She underlined that it is comparable to IITs. However, she criticised the state government for not providing essential facilities, such as a compound wall, approach road and permanent water supply to the institution.

MP Venkatesh called upon the state government to extend support to the institution, mirroring that of the central government.
