Kurnool Legal Authority Tops AP in Settling Cases

Kurnool: Kurnool District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) has topped Andhra Pradesh by solving the maximum number of cases in September 2023. The district had stood second in resolution of cases in May 2023.

Addressing a gathering at Nyaya Seva Sadan in Kurnool on occasion of the National Legal Services Day on Thursday, Principal District and Sessions Judge and DLSA chairman N. Srinivasa Rao explained the historical significance of November 9, the day Legal Services Authorities Act had been enacted in 1995.

This paved the way lok adalats, which speeded up resolution of cases pending in various courts of the country.

The DLSA chairman pointed out that four National Lok Adalats had been held from November 2022 to October 2023, leading to disposal of 91,014 cases and providing compensation of ₹43.1 crore.

Srinivasa Rao expressed his gratitude to judges, advocates, police and revenue departments for collaborating in settling the cases.

DLSA secretary C.H. Venkata Naga Srinivasa Rao participated in the programme.
