Modi's masterstroke is surgical strike' on black money: BJP
Chennai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement that Rs 1000 and Rs 500 currency notes will not be legal tender with immediate effect, is a masterstroke of his imitable style of a surgical strike on black money, BJP state secretary K. T. Raghavan said.
“It is a good move. I would say it is our Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s masterstroke resorting to surgical strike on stashing of black money,” Mr. Raghavan said. It is obvious that Mr. Modi, who was keen on eliminating black money, had announced the move.
“In fact there had been an indication some days ago (on Oct. 23) when the Prime Minister (on his visit to Vadodara) hinted at surgical strikes on black money. I hope the people will welcome this move. This shows how much he is sincere in weeding out corruption and the menace of black money,” he added,
When pointed out that the sudden announcement had shocked and left the people dazed, Mr. Raghavan replied, “This has to be. But the common man would not be affected.”
