High-level visits strengthened India-US ties, says Tamil Nadu Governor

Tamil Nadu was a peaceful state, known for its industrial friendly policies, he said.

Chennai: The visits of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the US and President Barack Obama to India have strengthened the relationship between the two countries, promoting trade and commerce, Tamil Nadu Governor CH Vidyasagar Rao said on Tuesday.

“The visits opened new vistas in IT, energy, education, aerospace and human resource,” Mr Rao told Philip A Min, US Consul General in Chennai who called on him.

“Min stated that US companies like Ford, Caterpillar and others have made investments in Chennai and there are many companies which are looking forward for more avenues since there is a conducive investment climate in Tamil Nadu,” it said.

Tamil Nadu was a peaceful state, known for its industrial friendly policies, he said. The US Consul General also invited the Governor for ‘Year End Celebrations’ to be held next month, the release added.
