President's remarks fitting reply to BJP: Kodiyeri Balakrishnan

He said BJP was using their political influence at the centre to tarnish the image of Kerala.

MALAPPURAM: President Ramnath Kovind’s remarks praising the communal harmony in Kerala is a fitting reply to the hate campaign of the RSS and BJP, said CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan here on Sunday. He said that campaign against CPM would be a futile attempt and the state is ready to face any challenge from the RSS with the support of secular forces. Speaking at a Meet the Press programme organised by Press Club of Malappuram, he said BJP was using their political influence at the centre to tarnish the image of Kerala.

Taking on the BJP led Yatra, he said, “the slogans threatening to attack communist leaders have proved that the Yatra is part of the preparation for unleashing violence in the state.” Mr Balakrishnan said that left parties would join hands with Congress at the national level to fight the anti-secular forces if they are ready to agree a common programme strongly opposing communal agenda and liberalisation policy of BJP. LDF will organise protest programmes to expose the communal agenda of RSS and BJP at all district headquarters in the state on Monday except Malappuram. He reiterated that the Vengara by-election outcome would not be on the performance of the LDF government.
