Math all set to celebrate Mata Amritanandamayi's 64th birthday
KOLLAM: The Amrita university campus at Amritapuri in Kollam is all set to celebrate the 64th birthday celebrations of Matha Amritanandamayi on Monday. A canopy covering an area of 5 lakh sq. ft. has been erected on the college ground to welcome devotees from India and across the world, said Matha Amritanandamayi Math vice-chairman Amritaswaroopananda Puri.
The birthday celebration will commence with Ganapathi homam followed by Satsang by Amritanandamayi. Film actress Sobhana will perform dance show at the venue. The major ritual of padapooja will be held under Amritaswaroopananda Puri, following which Amma will deliver her birthday message.
Central Minister for statistics Sadananda Gowda, Union tribal affairs minister Jual Oram, Rajya Sabha vice-president P.J. Kurien, minister of state for human resource development Satyapal Singh, state minister for ports Kadannappally Ramachandran, Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala and former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, among others will be present on the occasion.
