Hyderabad police to crack down on noise polluters
HYDERABAD: Come Diwali, the Hyderabad police will tighten its grip on noise polluters. The department is planning a blanket ban on crackers, loud music, public announcement system till October 19. The police is taking precautions to curb noise pollution caused by fire crackers before the festival. Thus, bursting of firecrackers in public places has been banned under Section 67 (C) of the Hyderabad City Police Act.
The police noted that the noise pollution in the city is on a higher side. “This causes inconvenience to children, old persons, patients and people in residential areas,” said a police official. Noise pollution will be completely banned at Burgula Rama Krishna Rao Building, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Building, Commissioner of Fish-eries Building, Mint Compound, Nizam Coll-ege, Assembly premises, Nampally Public Gar-den, Upper Tankbund, I–MAX, Rotary, NTR Marg and Khairatabad.
