Hyderabad: The Telangana State Wakf Board has suspended Fazalullah Shah Quadri, mutawalli of Dargah Hazrat Durvesh Muhiuddin, located at Karwan Saahu of the city, for allegedly selling lands belonging to the dargah.

Minorities welfare department secretary Omar Jaleel said that the competent authority of the Board, after receiving complaints from some of the devotees about the illegal sale of the dargah properties by the mutawalli, initiated an inquiry.

During the inquiry it was found that the mutawalli indulged in sale of dargah properties besides misappropriation the funds of the shrine.

Mr Jaleel said that the dargah was notified as Wakf property in the 1985.
After it suspended the mutawalli, the Wakf Board took the dargah under its control and constituted a committee to look after its affairs.
