Containers to be parked on BPCL land

According to the district collector, nearly 200 container trucks could be parked in the BPCL land.

Kochi: A high-level meeting convened by district collector Muhammad Y. Safirulla has decided to use the five acres of land belonging to BPCL for parking container trucks as part of ending accidents and illegal parking of vehicles on Container Road.

The meeting has also decided to put up proper signage on the 17-km road, which has several curves and bridges, in the next two weeks. According to the district collector, nearly 200 container trucks could be parked in the BPCL land. A proposal for installing lighting at an estimated cost of Rs 6.09 crore has also been submitted to the National Highway Authority.
