Telangana HC lawyers file PIL on Budwel land auction

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court Advocates Association filed a PIL in the High Court seeking suspension of an e-auction of land parcels in Budwel village of Rajendernagar mandal in Rangareddy district.

It referred to the HMDA notification dated August 4, 2023, published in leading newspapers, inviting bids for the auction of said land parcels, contending that 100 acres of the same were earmarked for a new High Court building.

The petitioner, Katta Pratap Reddy, the secretary of the advocates association, contended that the Telangana government assured allotment of the 100 acres, located in survey numbers 282 and 299 of Budwel village.

Retracting its assurance, the BRS government issued a notification for selling the said land parcels in Budwel to private persons, the petitioner contended.

The PIL will come up for hearing before the Chief Justice bench.
