Hyderabad: TPCC senior vice-president Mallu Ravi said the balladeer Gaddar, who died last week, had participated in Congress meetings as he had realised that only the party would deliver social justice. He noted that party leaders beginning with TPCC leader A. Revanth Reddy was in touch with the family and oversaw arrangements at the LB Stadium.
The death of Gaddar who had strived for social change through his songs is an irreparable loss to the Telangana society, said
TPCC spokesperson Ayodhya Reddy flayed minister K.T. Rama Rao for allegedly misusing the Assembly session for partisan ends. “The government is hiding many GOs and is not willing to come out with the details on the ORR tender. The CM is talking of farmers in Maharashtra while ignoring farmers in Telangana.” he said.
In a separate meeting of the Dalit Congress state executive, in which AICC SC department chairman Rajesh Lalothia participated, it was decided to reach out to Dalit students, employees and intelligentsia. “We will field Dalit candidates not just in reserved seats but also in general seats,” said senior leader V. Hanumantha Rao. “Efforts will also be made to include Dalits in the PCC committee.” Lalothia will meet the family of Gaddar on Wednesday.
