Kochi: Muhammed Hudaif, Class X student of Markaz HSS, Karanthur, was 'plotting' with the device that he has developed using robotics at the Startup Complex, Kalamassery on Thursday, shortly after General Education Minister Prof C Raveendranath had left after inaugurating a camp for the techies of future.
The device was made by Muhammed himself using the Rapsberry Pi, a pocket sized computer that the Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) had provided him with and the external components of the device were made using the part of a CD drive, key board and cabinet. He had developed the device using the facility at an Atal Tinkering Lab set up by the Central Government in a school nearby.
"This device could 'plot' pictures from an image on the screen on a paper down and in the larger application it can fix metal parts in a frame," said Muhammed. He is one among the many there. One student has showcased a Smart Cupboard, another one a Smart Agriculture Field and another a Smart Eco Waste Basket, to name a few.
The students numbering 231 have bee brought to the Startup Complex by KITE under the Department of Education which gave the young ones a Rapsberry Pi each and some training in robotics and animation while asking them to play with each to improvise and innovate with their own ideas. The bright young minds ignited the Startup Complex at Kalamassery with their unique solutions in a two-day state camp that began on Thursday. The camp is being organised by the KITE in association with Kerala Startup Mission....
