Chennai: AIADMK senior and state finance minister D. Jayakumar has claimed that the agitation planned by the former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam faction (Puratchi Thalaivi Amma) against the state government amounted to “deceiving” late Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa.
Pointing out that it was “disheartening” that Mr Pannerselvam heaped up charges against the AIADMK government, Mr Jayakumar said “announcing agitation against the government amounts to deceiving Amma (former CM Jayalalithaa).”
“It was Amma who had identified OPS…any agitation against the AIADMK government is a move against the Amma government,” he said and added that none could topple the Edappadi Palaniswami government.
“He (CM Edappadi K. Palaniswami) will hoist the tricolor on August 15, and the AIADMK government will continue to do so in future,” Mr. Jayakumar said.
