ADILABAD: Four persons of a family from Adilabad town were killed and five others injured when an auto in which they were travelling was hit by an unidentified vehicle in the wee hours of Saturday on NH-44 near Mekalagandi in Gudihathnoor mandal in Adilabad district.
The family and relatives were returning to Adilabad after attending a religious event at Ichoda.
The deceased were identified as Shailaja, 35, Salomi, 62, Pochanna, 65, and his wife Gangamma, 50, who were residents of Ravindranagar Colony. The injured were immediately shifted to RIMS, Adilabad, where they were undergoing treatment.
Accompanied by DSP Ch. Nagender, Adilabad SP D. Uday Kumar Reddy visited the accident spot and inquired about the incident from local people and police.
He said that there are many curves from Gudihathnoor to Adilabad. Some drivers put their vehicles in neutral to save on fuel when they reach this place, which was leading to accidents. Utnoor CI Ramakrishna was also present.
