1,761 fever cases reported in Kozhikode on Saturday
Kozhikode: As many as 1,761 cases of viral fever were reported in the district on Saturday, according to the district medical office. As many as 77 suspected cases and 40 confirmed cases of dengue and a confirmed case of Hepatitis A were also registered. Around 180 ADD (Acute diarrhoeal disease) cases were also reported. Total 19,692 patients visited the outpatient wing of various health institutions on Saturday.
The dengue cases were reported from Mokadar, West Hill, Kallayi (2 cases), Kolathara (4), Puthiyappa, Cheruvannur, Unnikulam, Moodadi (2), Thalakulathur (8), Kakkodi (3), Chelannur (6), Kolathur, Atholi (3), Ulliyeri, Thiruvangur, Ramanattukara (2), Feroke, Koothali and Madavoor.
Six chicken pox case were also reported on Saturday. The household visit and cleanliness drive by health squad has been continuing. Cleanliness drive was carried out in various wards and public spots on Saturday as a part of preventing the epidemic. Besides, health workers, ward councillors, ASHA, ankanwadi workers, club members, NSS, NCC, Scouts and Guides students are also part of the cleanliness drive.
