Govt exploited lack of clarity in Kerala High Court order: V M Sudheeran

Mr Sudheeran alleged that the bar owners had given the wrong notification in the High Court in the case of national highways.

Thiruvananthapuram: The bar owners and the LDF government exploited the lack of clarity in the High Court's order on reopening the beer and wine parlours, according to former KPCC chief V.M. Sudheeran. However, the court's decision to re-examine the order was laudable, he said addressing the Assembly march organised by the Madhya Virudha Janakeeya Munnani here on Thursday.

Mr Sudheeran alleged that the bar owners had given the wrong notification in the High Court in the case of national highways. He claimed that the court heard only the bar owners' version and came to a one- sided conclusion. "The government had the responsibility to present the true facts but it committed a grave mistake in this matter. Unfortunately, the court didn't criticise the bar owners who misled the court even as it found fault with me though I have been fighting against liquor for years," he said. He was not disrespecting the High Court's verdict, but pointing out the judicial flaws as a citizen, he said.
