Footpath in Safilguda Mini Tank Bund incomplete
Hyderabad: Repair of the footpath opposite Safilguda Mini Tank Bund has been left incomplete. The contractor started the work in May, and he has only managed to complete half of it so far. This is not the only example of a contractor doing a shoddy job. The roads of ICRISAT Enclave in Anand Bagh have been dug up and left uncovered for over a month. Iron rods have been left unbent, which has caused residents to be badly hurt.
Every year, the GHMC allocates work as part of its pre-monsoon plan. This includes the desilting of nalas, and the repair of footpaths and road. Residents claim that contractors who bag these projects, wait until the end of May to begin the work, and then they do a second-rate job at the last minute. The footpath at the Mini Tank Bund was previously used to park heavy vehicles like lorries, and by vendors to run small business such as fast food stalls and juice centres. It was supposed to have been repaired and renovated for use by pedestrians.
