Chennai: Fewer applications for plus-2 revaluation
Chennai: Over 2,000 students have applied for revaluation of their plus-2 answer scripts this year which is significantly less compared to 3,400 last year.
Admissions to professional courses like B.E., B.Tech and MBBS, B.VSc courses in the state are being conducted based on plus-2 marks.
Despite the common medical entrance test for MBBS course this year, nearly one lakh students sought their answer scripts to check whether they have any scope of getting higher marks.
In important subjects, over 34,000 students have applied for the answer scripts of Maths and Chemistry subjects. Around fifteen thousand students sought answer scripts of Biology.
The Directorate of Government Exams has invited applications for revaluation and retotalling. The last day for application was on Monday.
“We have received over 2,000 answer scripts for revaluation and over 300 applications for retotalling. The revaluation work has started now and it will continue for next two weeks. The change of marks will be intimated before the release of the rank list for engineering counselling,” a source said.
The rank list for engineering counselling will be released on June 22. Applications for retotalling were also lower compared to last year.
The Directorate of Government Exams has received over 300 applications for retotalling. In revaluation, the paper will be freshly evaluated by a team of three teachers and there are chances that mark awarded can be reduced as well.
Out of 3,400 students who sought the revaluation of their plus-2 answer sheets, over 2,000 students got their marks revised last year
