Ernakulam district records 85.85 per cent pass in HSS

As many as 12 students scored full marks (1200/1200) in all subjects.

Kochi: Schools in Ernakulam district fared well in the higher secondary examinations by recording a pass percentage of 85.85 against the state average of 84.33.

“My effort to understand and study portions in classroom itself and revising them multiple times later is the secret to my success. While my parents constantly motivated me, I sincerely thank my teachers and the school management for helping me with the achievement,” said U. Lekshmi Nair, a student of St Teresa’s Convent Girls Higher Secondary School, Ernakulam, one among the achievers.

Lekshmi, who opted for ‘Commerce Maths Group’ for her higher secondary studies, said she has decided to join ‘BA Economics’ of the Delhi University.

The Government scho-ols too produced good results in the examination. For instance, a total of 202 out of 214 students of Kadayiru-ppu Government Higher Secondary School were declared eligible for higher studies (94.39 per cent). Seven of the students secured A plus in all subjects.

Students who did not pass the exam will be allowed to appear for ‘Save a Year’ or SAY exam, which will be conducted by the DHSE, Kerala.

The applications for rechecking the photocopy of answer scripts and re-evaluation will have to be submitted latest by 15 May 2019.

The SAY improvement examination will be held from 15 June 2019 to 17 June 2019. The practical exams will be conducted between 30 and 31 May 2019.
