Final decision will be taken on May 14 after the CM's meeting with associations of employees and teachers.

Hyderabad: The Cabinet sub-committee on the issues and problems of employees and teachers will submit its report to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on May 11.

To discuss the problems of employees and teachers and to submit the recommendations, the CM had appointed the Cabinet sub-committee headed by finance minister Etela Rajendar and ministers K.T. Rama Rao and G. Jagadish Reddy as members. The Cabinet sub-committee had held discussions with employees and teachers’ associations.

The Committee is in the process of finalising the report. The CM will examine the report.

The Chief Minister will also discuss with the Chief Secretary, the Finance Secretary and other senior officials on this issue. Final decision will be taken on May 14 after the CM’s meeting with associations of employees and teachers.

Separate commission for pending cases

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday, held discussions with legal experts on cases of cash-for-vote and other pending cases. This was the second day in a row that the CM was holding such discussions.

In the meeting, the CM opined that a separate co-mmission should be app-ointed to deal with pending issues. Accordingly the CM has sought the opinion of legal experts on whether it would be better to appoint a single-member commission or a two-member commission.

The CM said that the commission should set time-bound programmes to complete the pending cases.

Amongst the pending cases, there are many land scam cases. The CM has also sought the opinion from the legal experts on whether it was possible to bring cash-for-vote cases also into the purview of the proposed commission.

Mr. Rao has also reviewed the progress of the pending cases in the various courts. He said it was imperative to complete the investigation in a time-bound manner and to appoint separate commissions on important cases. Sources said that the CM will take a final call on the appointment of a special commission in a day or two.

With the re-opening of the cash-for-vote case, the CM has opened the Pandora's Box. It is bound to create a sensation in political circles, say political pundits, given the current political scenario in Telangana.
