Tension at Isukapalli as TN fishermen enter AP waters

ANANTAPUR: A tense situation is prevailing along the Isukapalli sea coast after Tamil Nadu fishermen pelted stones at the local fishermen in Allur mandal of Nellore district.

Fishing boats from Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu have arrived within the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday. Fisher folk of Isukapalli have complained that the nets they have place for fishing have got cut off after the illegal infiltration from fishermen of Tamil Nadu.

The issue has led to stone pelting between the two groups. Several people have suffered minor injuries.

Following this, a large number of fishermen staged a sit-in opposite the Marine Police Station, asking what the cops are doing when Tamil Nadu fishermen are entering the AP waters.

The fisherfolk raised slogans against marine sub-inspector Naib Rasool.
