TTD panel 'establishes' Tirumala as birthplace of Lord Hanuman
TIRUMALA: Tirumala is soon to be labelled as the birthplace of Lord Anjaneya with the administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) all set to present epigraphical and scientific evidences confirming the same on Ugadi (April 13).
In this context, a detailed review meeting was held in the office of TTD EO Dr K.S. Jawahar Reddy with expert committee members, who have done in-depth research since December, on Thursday.
The EO sought the scholars to come out with astronomical, epigraphical, scientific puranic evidence and salient features that could be presented to the public. He also asked them to bring out a comprehensive book with these evidences proving Anjanadri as the birthplace of Hanuman within a couple of months.
It may be recalled that the TTD constituted an expert committee in December to study in detail about the evidence that Anjanadri Hills was the birthplace of Lord Hanuman.
The committee comprised Prof. Sannidhanam Sudarshana Sharma, V-C of Vedic Varsity, Prof. Muralidhara Sharma, V-C of the National Sanskrit Varsity, Professors Ranisadasiva Murthy, J. Rama Krishna and Sankara Narayana, ISRO scientist Murthi Remilla, deputy director of state archaeology Vijay Kumar with project officer of Higher Vedic Studies Dr A. Vibhishana Sharma as convener.
The panel researched various evidences to strongly establish Anjanadri as the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. Evidence from the Siva, Brahma, Brahmanda, Varaha, Matsya Puranas, Venkatachala Mahatyam, Varahamihira Brihatsamhita proving the point that Anjanadri hills located in Tirumala is the actual birth place of Anjaneya with relevance to the dates of that aeon.
