Kochi: Mayor Soumini Jain on Friday said that the Corporation will set up cultural centres with theatre complexes in the city for the exhibition of films and cultural events. She said this while inaugurating the Aravindan Film Festival organised by Cochin Film Society and District Information Office of the Public Relations Department at Children’s Park here.
She said that the current proposal is to set up such centres at Parvana Junction in West Kochi and PJ Antony Ground in Pachalam. The Mayor also said that setting up a memorial for poet G. Sankara Kurup was also in the active consideration of the Corporation. Actor Urmila Unni who was the heroine in the Aravindan movie Maarattam was the chief guest at the function. Writer K.N.
