Kerala Armed Police has all-women programme
KANNUR: The Kerala Armed Police fourth battalion (KAP4) celebrated Women’s Day in a unique manner, where the programme was organised by the wives of the police personnel. The men gave the stage to women and chose to sit among the audience, and that included the Commandant. The dais was occupied by wives, sisters and daughters of police personnel. A seminar on women’s issues in society and the role of the police was held.
Self defence martial art techniques were taught to WPCs and the women of the University college. Self defence training was also imparted to the students of NIFT, Kannur, on the demand of the management in the wake of one female student being harassed. A sensitization program was organised for 500 recruits also on this occasion.
