Telangana: Yadadri abuzz for Brahmotsavam

Thursday is the last day of the 11-day Brahmotsavam.

Hyderabad: Thousands of devotees from across the state and outside offered prayers to the famed Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy of Yadagirigutta on the occasion of annual Brahmotsavam on Wednesday.

There was Maha Purnahiti, Chakra Theertha, Sri Pushpa yagam, Devodvasana, Doopa utsav and other programmes where devotees participated with fervour.

Thursday is the last day of the 11-day Brahmotsavam. While traditional rituals are conducted atop the hill shrine, mass congregation took place at ZPHS and other places at the foothills due to ongoing construction works.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has promised to turn Yadadri into Tirumala of Telangana and has sanctioned Rs 100 crore, roped in top architects to renovate the temple.

“There is a huge rush to the temple due to Brahmotsavam. It has attracted people from all corners of the state and outside,” temple EO N. Geetha told DC.

According to Kishan Rao, vice-chairman and CEO, Yadagirigutta Temple Development Authority, about 4,000 to 5,000 devotees have offered prayers daily since the first day of the festival while the congregation for the kalyanam was over one lakh.
