Telangana: It's the end of cool nights as summer arrives early
Hyderabad: A change in the circulation of winds is causing a rise in average temperatures across Telangana, it has been revealed.
The onset of summer happens in March and continues into April and May, but this year, the Met department’s claiming the summer onset could occur by the end of February itself. Expect a rise in temperatures from this day onwards, the local weather bureau has said.
Also, the city is already witnessing 33°C during the day. The maximum recorded so far this month was 33.6°C. Basically, it’s the end of cool nights.
“Change in the circulation of winds in Central India is causing a rise in temperatures in Telangana state. Earlier in January, the state, was receiving winds from the North which had caused temperatures to drop in the night and there were cold wave conditions too. But now, the onset of summer might be a week earlier. But, this is no change in the seasonal pattern,” director general of the IMD, K.J. Ramesh said.
The local weather bureau and reliable apps predict day temperatures throughout February will be above 31°C and the forecast is mainly clear skies.
On February 8, the state witnessed dry weather and no major changes in the minimum temperatures have been observed over Telangana in 24 hours. The city recorded 30°C as maximum and 17.1 °C minimum.
