Chennai: Inspired by Harry Potter novel, a team of four students from Anna University has designed ‘Magic Mirror’ which is much more revealing than the normal mirror. On command, the mirror turns into a personalised screen displaying time, news, weather, reminders and Facebook and Twitter feeds along with other notifications.
“The mirror in the Harry Potter novel will show the deepest desire inside the person. This mirror will not only reflect but also act like your phone screen showing notifications,” said S. Keerthana, one of the team members.
“We used the Amazon Alexa voice service for voice recognition. We can ask questions to the mirror and it will display the answers. We can also know route map, news feeds through the mirror,” she said. They have attached a monitor to the mirror. The mirror can also recognise the face of the individual.
