BENGALURU: The State Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are set to release a book “Siddu Nija Kansu” (Siddu’s Real Dreams in English) at a function to be held at the Town Hall in Bengaluru at 3 pm today.
BJP leader and Minister for Higher Education Dr Ashwathnarayan is set to release the book while BJP MLC Narayanswamy has been invited to attend the book release function.
However, the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Legal Cell has asked the police to stop the function citing that the book on Congress leader and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is ‘derogatory.’
Defending the book, BJP leader and MLC Chalavadi Narayanswamy stated the book is yet to be released and questioned ‘how can one object before knowing its content?’ Adding, he said, "In public life, a leader has to take both criticism and appreciation equally.”
Commenting on the BJP’s book on him, Siddaramaiah warned of filing a defamation case against BJP over the book and termed that the book is aimed to ‘malign’ him.
Congress party workers have gathered at Town Hall, the venue where the book on Siddaramaiah, to stall the scheduled book release.
