Hyderabad: Over 100 candidates from the Telugu states have cleared the recently held Civil Services Main Examination 2023. Nationally, 2,844 aspirants have successfully moved on to the personality test, scheduled to take place in New Delhi from January. Of these, approximately 1,011 candidates are likely to secure positions in all India services including the prestigious IAS, IPS and IFS.
Over 5.5 lakh aspirants nationwide took the preliminary test in May 2023, including about 50,000 candidates from Hyderabad and Warangal. It is estimated that around 29,000 candidates from these regions actually appeared for the examination. Nationally, 14,624 individuals were deemed qualified for the Main Examination, which took place from September 15th to 24, 2023.
Given the highly competitive nature of the selection process, the margin for qualifying is said to be narrow. Emphasising the importance of meticulous preparation, a director of a coaching institute in the city remarked, "All aspirants who have qualified would be in a very narrow range. Needless to say, every mark counts at the personality test. Aspirants who have qualified should focus on the presentation of their answers to the expected questions. Practice is the key to success."
The head of another coaching institute said that the results this year showed one of the highest numbers of qualifiers since the past few years.
