KAKINADA: Following heavy rains, massive inflows of water have reached the Karatam Krishnamurthy reservoir at Kongavarigudem in Jangareddygudem mandal of Eluru district. Water level in the reservoir is at 83.39 metres against the full reservoir level of 83.50 metres.
According to unconfirmed reports, some tanks in Telangana have breached due to heavy rains. Their waters have entered the Karatam reservoir through the Yerra Kalva’.
The reservoir is receiving 19,000 cusecs of water of which 11,000 cusecs is discharged downstream
As a result, agriculture fields surrounding the J. Lakkavaram village have been inundated.
