Hyderabad: Ahead of Diwali, officials from Telangana State disaster response and fire services (TSDFS) have given temporary licenses for sale of firecrackers to around 2,000 shops in the state. Meanwhile, the fire department has cautioned people to take necessary safety precautions while bursting crackers.
In a separate development, Y. Nagi Reddy, DG of TSFDS, issued orders cancelling all leaves to his staff and directed them to be on high alert to attend to any Diwali-related incidents on time.
They warned of strict action against anyone found violating guidelines and also shops employing child labour. They wanted fire extinguishers and water facilities near all outlets.
