Andhra Pradesh Police Thrash Indian Army Soldier

The cops attacked the soldier following an argument over Disha women\'s safety app

Syed Alimullah, a native of Regulapalem in Anakapalle district after he expressed doubt over their identity as they did not sport their ID cards.

The victim came home on November 2 and was waiting for a bus at Santabayalu when the police constable there were already making the people download the state-promoted Disha women safety app on their mobiles.

Syed was also asked to download the app. In the process, a constable wrote the OTP sent in the process.

At this moment, the soldier expressed fear that there was a chance for a cyber fraud with the help of OTP. He also pointed out that the constables were not having their identity badges and hence, expressed some doubt and asked them to show their ID cards.

Enraged over these remarks, the constables asked him if he was not able to see their uniform. They asked him to come to the police station and said that they would show their identity cards there.

Venting their anger over the soldier, they caught Alimullah by the collar and he fell down. Then another constable hit him with his leg while another hit him over the cheek.

Soon the onlookers interfered and asked the constables to stop attacking the soldier. "Just because he asked for your ID cards, why would you attack him," they asked.

At the same time, they also asked the constables why should men be asked to download the Disha app.

During this moment, two other police reached the place and all the four police personnel tried to take the solider to the station in an auto but he objected to the move.

Later, the police took his identity card and left the place.

Then the victim approached Anakapalle SP Muralikrishna and briefed him about the incident following which they were punished.
