Capex chief sends notice to Rajmohan Unnithan

Mr. Xavier is not qualified as prescribed, is neither an MBA or an Engineering graduate

KOLLAM: KPCC member Rajmohan Unnithan said on Monday that he was firm on his stand that the Capex MD R. Rajesh and KSCDC MD T.F. Xavier were appointed violating the norms for employing MDs in public sector companies. “I have received a legal notice from R. Rajesh's advocate demanding the recall of my allegations or pay a compensation of Rs 10 lakh. I stand by my allegations. I have replied that I will prove my stand in court. I also demand that Mr. Rajesh should not withdraw this case,” Mr. Unnithan said.

“The Supreme Court order of 2006 and the mandates by RIAB propose definitive norms in appointing Managing Directors in public sector companies, including the publishing of advertisements in the media and conducting interviews. In both the appointments at the Corporation and Capex, these were violated. Mr. Xavier is not qualified as prescribed, is neither an MBA or an Engineering graduate, and does not have15 years of experience in any public sector firm.

Likewise, Mr. Rajesh is a tainted officer who was removed from the position of MD of Capex following an inquiry by RIAB on corruption in the purchase of raw cashew from Tanzania and was appointed as the MD of Autokast Ltd,” Mr. Unnithan alleged. He also said that in an act of nepotism, Minister Mercykkutty Amma had appointed Mr. Baby Isaac, her sister’s husband and a pensioner, as an administrative officer with the Cape (Co-operative Academy of Professional Education), as against the norms.
