Inspector with pending ACB case is the new Uppal SHO

Hyderabad: B. Sravan Kumar, former Trimulgherry station house officer, who was booked by the ACB for allegedly demanding a bribe, has been posted as the SHO of Uppal. Rachakonda police commissioner D.S. Chauhan issued orders to this effect on Sunday, after transferring the incumbent R. Govinda Reddy.

Sravan Kumar had landed in the ACB net in July, for allegedly demanding a bribe from a professional shooter for renewing the latter's weapon licence. Later he was placed under suspension and his services were surrendered to the Hyderabad range.

According to sources, the ACB completed investigation in the case and submitted a report to the state government seeking sanction for Sravan Kumar’s prosecution, as is the case with public servants under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The approval is pending from the government.
