Civic Body Recruitment Scam: CBI Raids Firhad Hakim\'s House

The civic body recruitment scam case pertains to alleged corruption in the appointment of ineligible candidates in primary schools

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted a search operation at the residence of Kolkata Mayor and Trinamool Congress (TMC) Minister in West Bengal Cabinet Firhad Hakim in connection with alleged irregularities in civic body recruitment.

Earlier, ED sleuths raided the house of state Food and Supplies Minister Rathin Ghosh in connection with the scam On Thursday.

The ED searched a total of 14 properties, including the houses of TMC leaders.

On September 26, the CBI raided around six locations in West Bengal in connection with the alleged scam. The case pertains to alleged corruption in the appointment of ineligible candidates as assistant teachers in primary schools in West Bengal.

The CBI raided around six locations, including Salt Lake, Behala, Kolkata, and Howrah. The central probe body conducted searches at the premises of private persons related to private companies, during further investigation of a case. Incriminating documents and articles were reportedly recovered during searches, according to a CBI official.
