Vijayayaathre of scion Yaduveer as part of private dasara festivities of royal family

The former state anthem of the then Mysuru State \'Kayo Srigowri\' was played by Police band.

Mysuru: A scene of bygone royal era unfolded on Tuesday morning, as 27th scion of erstwhile royal family of Mysuru Sri Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar took out “Vijaya Yathre” in a “Belli gaadi” (silver chariot) symbolically, at palace premises culminating their 10-day private Dasara festivities of erstwhile royal family as per their traditions.

Attired in brocade traditional royal robes perfectly blended with vally, turban, antique jewellery Sri Yaduveer participated in series of traditional rituals and poojas including Ayuda Uttara Pooja, Kooshmanda, and others at Kalyanamantapa of Mysuru Palace. Later he witnessed customary “Vajramushti kalaga” (wrestling) at Savar thotti in Mysuru Palace premises.

Later, Sri Yaduveer took out "Vijaya Yathre" (mini procession) in “Belli gaadi” (silver chariot) to the temple of Goddess Bhuvaneswari at Palace premises and offered Shami pooja. And later the idol of Chamudeswari which was moved from Chamundi thotti to Kannadi thotti on day 1 of Dasara of royal family was reinstalled in Chamundi thotti at Palace.

Dasara elephant Vikrama who functioned as the “pattada aane” for the Dasara rituals of royal family of Mysuru, participated in “Vijaya Yathre” along with another Dasara elephant gopi, pattada hasu (cow), pattada kudure (horse) and others in Vijaya Yathre.

The former state anthem of the then Mysuru State “Kayo Srigowri” was played by Police band on both the occasion of arrival of Sri Yaduveer and conclusion of Vijaya yathre. All the rituals were held amidst the tunes of Nagaswara and Mysuru Police band all through.

Sri Yaduveer’s mother Rajamatha Pramoda devi Wadiyar, his wife Trishika Devi Wadiyar, son son Aadyaveer Narasimharaja Wadiyar and other royal family members and few invitees were present.

Aayudapooja by Sri Yaduveer on Monday:

On Monday, attired in golden colour brocade royal robes blended with turban, antique jewellery, Sri Yaduveer carried out Aayuda pooja to “khaas aayudas” or the royal arms and ammunitions, at Kalyanamantapa of Mysuru Palace from 10am. He even offered poojas to Pattada aane Vikrama, another dasara elephant Gopi and other palace elephants, Pattada Kudure (horse), Pattada Hasu (cow) and Camels of Palace.

He also offered poojas to Belli gaadi (silver chariot), silver palanquin, few of the favourite car collection of late Maharaja Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, including BMW five series, BMW seven series, Mercedes Benz, Ford Endeavor, Tata Innova, Xylo, Scorpio Valantra and Wagan R among others.

All of them have same numbers as in the year of birth of Sri Srikantadatta which is 1953 and an insignia of royal family Ganduberunda. And at 7pm on Monday, Yaduveer held his last private darbar for the year, at darbar hall, and the mask of Lion installed to golden throne on the day 1 of Dasara was removed.

Later Kankanavisarjana of Sri Yaduveer happened at Khaas pooja mandir at Palace and he later offered poojas at Amala devatha sannidi at Palace.
