President Ram Nath Kovind in Kerala today for Mata Amritanandamayi's 64th birthday

Mr Kovind and wife Savitha Kovind will open the math's humanitarian activities as part of Amma's 64th birthday celebrations at the ashram.

KOLLAM: President Ram Nath Kovind, in his maiden visit to Kerala after assuming office, will reach Matha Amritanandamayi Math on Sunday. Mr Kovind and wife Savitha Kovind will open the math’s humanitarian activities as part of Amma’s 64th birthday celebrations at the ashram. The President will be received at Thiruvananthapuram airport by Governor P. Sathasivam, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and colleagues. He will proceed to Kayamkulam NTPC in a copter and reach Amritapuri by road for the programme, scheduled at 11 am. He will return Delhi in the afternoon. In view of the visit, traffic is banned along the NH between Oachira and Nangiarku-langara junction from 9.30 am to 2 pm.

Vehicles bound for Thiruvananthapuram should take the MC Road from Changanassery. Vehicles coming from Haripad will be diverted via Mavelikara and Karunagapally. Vehicles going north can reach Haripad through Karunagapally-Puthiyakavu-Charummoodu-Mavelikara route.
