Thiruvananthapuram: In a massive administrative exercise aimed at accelerating the implementation of ongoing projects, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan will evaluate important projects of all departments on October 9 and 10. He will evaluate three projects of each department with the primary objective of removing obstacles if any for their time bound completion. Some 114 projects of 38 departments would be taken up for appraisal. The progress of 14 mega projects would also be assessed along with others. An official release here said on the first day the departments under six ministers including chief minister will be evaluated.
The departments of 12 ministers will be taken up for scrutiny on the second day. The evaluation is going to be an exhaustive work beginning in the morning and going up to the evening. The ministers concerned, chief secretary and department secretaries will sit through the evaluation process and take prompt decisions to remove hurdles if any. The quarterly assessment of Annual Plan is on October 11. An official release said since the LDF government came to power in May 2016, the chief minister himself had been analysing utilisation for every quarter, and as a result, there was remarkable progress in the implementation. There was a significant change from the past practice of rushing through the spending at the end of the fiscal, it claimed.
