Civil Supplies Minister P Thilothaman's son has a brush with law

Alappuzha: Even a minister’s son is not beyond the reach of law. Civil Supplies Minister P. Thilothaman’s son Arjun had a brush with law when he was going home from the St. Michael’s college on his bike on Friday. Arthunkal SI Sivaprasad who was checking vehicles in the area reportedly stopped Arjun and took away the key though he said that he was the minister’s son. The SI did not budge and asked Arjun to be present at the station with details. The minister reportedly complained to the DGP who asked Cherthala DySP A.G. Lal to file a report.
However, Mr Lal on Saturday denied the reports that the minister had complained against the Arthunkal SI for misbehaving with his son. Mr Lal said that he had got no complaint from the minister so far. The superintendent of police had asked him about the incident over phone. “I know the minister personally. He did not call me so far or give a complaint. I think the issue is settled,” he said. “I had instructed the Arthunkal SI to check the college area on Friday as we had information that some people had gathered there to show black flags at the chief minister while he was passing through the place. I think the SI acted after Arjun refused to stop,” he said.
